Occular Disease Treatment
Our comprehensive eye exam takes one hour and includes dilation. In this procedure, drops are instilled into the eyes, making the pupils larger so we can thoroughly examine the inside of your eye.
You will be sensitive to bright sunshine for about 2 hours afterwards, so remember to bring dark sunglasses along. If you prefer not to be dilated, please let our office staff know so we can make other arrangements. Please let us know at least 48 hours in advance of a change in your schedule. This allows someone else to take your place.
Thank you! We are looking forward to seeing you!

Occular disease & prevention
Quite often, people do not realize that the inside of the eye is one of the only places that a physician can evaluate blood vessels and nerves without doing surgery or special testing.
Systemic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, sarcoidosis, arthritis, anemia, thyroid disease, and even MS can cause changes that can be seen in the eye during a comprehensive eye examination.
Many times, signs of systemic diseases can be used to detect patients with a more serious underlying health condition.
